Another busy month for me with NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) but I feel like I did okay across the board with movies and television given the circumstances, and a fair sight better then October.

So this month I caught four movies in cinema and managed to slip in a couple of early Christmas movies.

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms
Bad Moms
Widows
The Holiday Calendar
Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald
Robin Hood
Million Dollar Baby

Slowly been watching what I’ve been watching, nothing new, and unfortunately as you can see, I haven’t progressed on many of my boxset series.

I still blame NaNoWriMo.

Ongoing
Insatiable
[Paused]
Doctor Who (Season 11)
The Flash (Season 5)
Grey’s Anatomy (Season 15)
Jessica Jones (Season 2)
Gilmore Girls (Season 3) [Rewatch]

My favourite of the month was…. Million Dollar Baby. It was just so bloody unexpected, the cinematography was great and I’m still thinking about it even though I watched it more than a week ago.

Over on Letterboxd I write a few lines in review for every movie, not just the ones I see in cinema if you want to check those out.

Least you forget I happen to also be an avid reader, and this month I was focused on… well actually I didn’t really have a theme. I guess you could call it November/2018 new releases.

Outrun the Wind by Elizabeth Tammi
Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J Maas
Look Alive Twenty-Five by Janet Evanovich
Catwoman: Soulstealer by Sarah J Maas

My favourite novel of the month was… Well how could I not say Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas? The last in the Throne of Glass series from the author, she handled closing together a wealth of characters and plot lines really freaking well. Even though I don’t agree with where the story went in a few places, it was a bittersweet ending that still had me feeling that there could somehow still be more to come…

Check out my Goodreads for reviews and such.

Bonus: I finally saw The Lion King in the West End. Costume and music were great – the storyline is the same. I know that may have seemed obvious but thought I’d just say it!

Roll on December.

  1. I really want to see Widows. It looks so good! I saw Cynthia Erivo in The Color Purple revival on Broadway. So talented!

I still haven’t seen that 2nd Season yet of Jessica Jones. How was it, no spoilers though, LoL. Curious if this show will also get cancelled on Netflix. Like every Marvel series seems to be getting cancelled. I think there’s a chance those series might go to the Disney streaming service.

Oh that’s so wonderful that you saw The Lion King. What a fantastic show, incredible! I saw it so long ago at this point, but it was so good you remember it. That opening scene was amazing!

    1. I am very very slowly making my though Jessica Jones season 2 – so far it’s not as good as the first one but I’ll still try and finish it.

I’ve heard good things about Cynthia Erivo hopefully I can catch her if she’s ever on the West End again.
