Did we even have a July this year? Or an August for that matter. What even is Summer at this point?
This month I accidentally became obsessed with watching as many movies as possible from the DC Animated Universe I could get my hands on.

I have admittedly wound down with my television series’ for the time being to make room for other things in life (not just watching cartoon movies I swear!). Please excuse this embarrassingly sparse list.

My favourite of the month was…. Batman: The Killing Joke. I watched so many Batman movies it was highly probable that my favourite would come from Gotham. With this specific movie, I really enjoyed the animation style and the closer look at Batgirl and her history – something I’d never thought about before. There is a level of grit you expect from these movies and Batman: The Killing Joke certainly delivered.
Over on Letterboxd I write a few lines in review for every movie, not just the ones I see in cinema if you want to check those out.
Least you forget I happen to also be an avid reader, and this month I was focused on catching up with some popular novels. I did okay but considering I had thirteen books on my proposed list… I could have done better.
Sweatpants at Tiffanie’s by Pernille Hughes
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
The Power by Naomi Alderman
Legendary by Stephanie Garber
Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu
Unconditionally by Erin Lyon
My favourite novel for the month was…. Legendary by Stephanie Garber. The second book in the Caraval series, I was surprised to find it a lot more enjoyable and developed than the first. Normally in books you find that you can’t always trust the narrator – this was my first experience where I realised I couldn’t trust the story. Definitely read Caraval first, but look forward to an even trippier ride with Legendary.
Check out my Goodreads for reviews and such.
Roll on September.
