This buddy comedy takes us through a whirlwind day in South LA following determined waitress Dreux and her flatmate/bestie aspiring artist Alyssa. The pair embark on a frantic quest to secure rent money before 6pm or risk eviction.

In many ways, One of Them Days is exactly what you’d expect. Hair brained schemes and hijinks set to the backdrop of zany characters in a colourful community. The narrative is easily reminiscent of classic Black buddy comedies like Friday, however, it puts a refreshing spin on a well-worn genre.
It’s easy to take this movie as a face value comedy, however One of Them Days also offers a narrative that celebrates female friendship, highlights the frustration of feeling stuck in life, the crippling reality of imposter syndrome, and the lengths one will go to for those they love.
Keke Palmer and SZA – in her acting debut – were a natural pair in this funny, occasionally stressful, and completely warm-hearted comedy. If you love movies that feel like hanging out with your best mates for 90 minutes, this one’s for you.
