We’ve reached the end once more, and though I haven’t been writing movie reviews for quite up to a decade – which is a shame – it’s still nice to look back one last time towards the past. Continuing the format I started in 2018, I go month by month picking out my favourite Movie, TV Show and Book (extra favourites starred). See you on the other side!
Film
Stats. According to my records on Letterboxd – I watched 146 movies. The shortest movie I watched at 67 minutes was Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, and the longest at 209 minutes was The Irishman.
My lowest rated movies at 1/2 a star amounted to a whopping eight movies, doubling my four of last year. These shameful movies were; Cats, Let It Snow, From Paris with Love, Point Blank, Very Very Valentine, Hangman, The Drowning, Speed 2: Cruise Control and Pacific Rim: Uprising.
On a much happier note, my highest rated movies at a peak of 4 stars were: King Arthur Legend: Legend of the Sword, (seen before but bumped up from it’s previous 3 1/2 after a recent re-watch!), Nightcrawler, Batman: Bad Blood and Green Book

2019 didn’t quite go down the way I wanted in terms of generating content for my blog (and reading), and I didn’t hit the targets I set out for myself at the start of the year. However I’m not disappointed. Other avenues that took priority flourished as a result of the sacrifice in reducing the amount of television and film I was able to watch and therefore review.
I’m a goal setter so with a new year comes new targets, and a thought or two I think I’ll share is, firstly, remember to be flexible as we have no idea what rocks are coming up in the river that we need to flow around. Secondly: don’t hand out five stars too liberally!
