Hi Guys, Wrap-Up time.

We had some highs and disappointments in film and television this month.

And that’s all she wrote.

MOVIES

Though all not listed here, this month I actually watched thirty movies. Hold the applause – it was now accidental victory as I challenged myself to watch “A Movie a Day in the month of May” you can find the full list in another post. Here I will list the movies I did full reviews on as well as a few personal faves.

Extremely WIcked Shockingly Evil and Vile (Sky/Cinema)
The Cabin in the Woods (Netflix)
John Wick Chapter 3 – Parabellum
(Cinema)
The Prestige
(Sky)
See You Yesterday
(Netflix)
Notting Hill
Love on the Menu (Sky)
Aladdin
(Cinema)
Save the Last Dance
(Sky)
Booksmart
(Cinema)

TELEVISION

I think I get a pass this month, what with all the movie watching I’ve been doing, there wasn’t any time to do much more than keep up to date with my shows as opposed to binge watching.

Started
Years and Years (BBC One)
Chernobyl (Sky Atlantic)
What/If (Netflix)

Finished
Trust Me
(BBC One) [Quit]
Game of Thrones (Sky One)
The Flash (Sky One)
Grey’s Anatomy (Sky Witness)
The Chilling Adventures of Sabria – Season 2 (Netflix)

Ongoing
Gilmore Girls – Season 4 (Netflix) Yes I finally finished Season 3 for those of you that were keeping up!
Castle – Season 6 (Sky)

Paused
American Gods (Season 1) – Amazon Video
Ingobernable (Season 1) – Netflix

My favourite of the month out of a whole slew of movies has got to be… actually I am going to go with Aladdin and See You Yesterday and just let you read the respective reviews to find out why if you care to know.

For TV it’s got to be Years and Years. So far I’ve only watched three of the aired episodes out of the six but the pilot was enough to let me know I’d really enjoy the series. I won’t say much more now, but look out for it next month in my British TV review.

Over on Letterboxd I write a few lines in review for every movie, not just the ones I see in cinema if you want to check those out.

BOOKS

Least you forget I happen to also be an avid reader, – though with how poorly I did this month I think we might have to swap “avid” for “infrequent”. This month I was supposed to read whole series’ but the first book I chose I really didn’t enjoy and so that pretty much put me off for the whole month. Can we go back to applauding me for my valiant movie watching efforts?

Young Elites by Marie Lu
The Secret Diamond Sisters by Michelle Madow

My favourite novel of the month was by default; The Secret Diamond Sisters. It was a throwback to the types of books I’d read as a teenager; female lead, family falling to pieces, high school drama, glamour and glitz. A good story to boot which made it all the more readable even now when I am no longer drawn to these sorts of novels.

Check out my Goodreads for reviews and such.
