Christmas Bells Jingled: 🔔

A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding: This movie picks up a year after the events of its predecessor A Christmas Prince, with protagonist Amber (Rose McIver) on her way up the Aldovian aisle to say I do. Like hell, the road the road to marriage is paved with good intentions, as Amber has to work out what kind of wife – and Queen she is going to be.

A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding

The most important factor to note is that this didn’t feel like a Christmas movie in the slightest. Seriously, it’s pretty weird considering Christmasy things happened; Greeting Card reading, Tree picking, Children’s Plays. Sadly all the Christmas got lost behind the main plot of the movie; Amber’s wedding and Aldovia’s financial issues.

To be honest my review could stop at the above paragraph, but for all intents and purposes I’ll say a little bit more.

As far as movies go this one didn’t do anything different.
Fit in with tradition!
But I want to do things my way… if you don’t mind.
Shan’t!
What if I just do it a little my way –
Can’t!
Now I’m upset.
Crap are those tears? Not that I care or anything.
I’m standing up for myself one last time!
Okay we’ve seen the error of our ways. You win.

There a mystery element to the story but it kind of circled in the background and in all honesty it was best that way because the culprit was so obvious they may as well have just painted his hands red.

I could happily sit and tear into this movie from the lazy costumes to one of the worst TV weddings I’ve ever seen, and easily churn out enough words to be a dissertation – but I mostly watched it for the Christmasness (to which there was barely any) so I’ll leave it there.

Lets face it, they’ll probably round this off with a final movie next year. My guess on the title is a tie between; A Christmas Prince: The Royal Miracle and A Christmas Prince: Miracle on Aldovian Street.

I’d tell you that I don’t plan on watching it… but we all know I’d be lying.
