My favourite for the month was….The Jane Austen Book Club. This is mostly because I’m a massive Jane Austen fan (if you haven’t already figured by now). I’ve seen it before but this re-watch was once I’d finally read all the books which made it all the more enjoyable.
Over on Letterboxd I write a few lines in review for every movie, not just the ones I see in cinema if you want to check those out.
Least you forget I happen to also be an avid reader, and this month my goal was to read the last two Jane Austen books. As I knew that would only take me a week, I decided to just make it another classics month…. mostly.
Persuasion by Jane Austen
Lady Susan by Jane Austen
The Turn of the Screw by Henry James
Mary Poppins by P.L Travers
Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime by Oscar Wilde
Catch 22 by Joseph Heller (DNF)
Seduce Me At Sunrise by Lisa Kleypas
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
My favourite novel for the month has got to be… Mary Poppins. It was just a sweet little kids story but mostly it was that the character of Mary Poppins is so different from the onscreen depiction we all know and love. She’s sassy, strict, and incredibly narcissistic – and I loved it. I shall be reading Mary Poppins Comes Back before the movie hits cinemas at the end of the year.
Check out my Goodreads for reviews and such.
Roll on July.
