This gritty film noir, dystopian sci-fi, mystery thriller, is a cult classic movie that sounds a whole lot more dangerous than running with scissors.

Pulled back into the fold is the best Blade Runner out there; Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford). His mission, whether he likes it or not, is to track down four replicants (human-like beings), running rampant across the city.
The replicants themselves, are in search of a cure to their built in four year lifespan, and will do anything to find it.
Research has shown me that there are in fact seven different versions of this movie, and so for clarification purposes; I watched the theatrical release.
Not that it matters because I didn’t like this movie. At all.

Mostly I sat down to watch it because it’s a well known, popular piece of cinema, however I found that I only really liked the idea of the movie and the American/Hong Kong, backdrop of the world it took place in.
I have narrowed it down to a few reasons as to why Blade Runner didn’t sit right with me; I wanted to know more about Rick Deckard, the movie moved too slowly but gave an air of a story that warranted a constant faster pace. Finally I wasn’t emotionally invested in any of the characters or their goals, and when I’m not, I don’t particularly care about their fates.
It’s great that the movie had such an impact on media entertainment, and I appreciate that it helped to spawn many movies and television series with similar themes and occasionally not so subtle references.
