In some ways my wrap up for April is incredibly similar to my wrap up for March. It could have been a lot better and it could have been a lot worse.

This was a pretty average month for movies. I could have watched less and I really could have watched more, but alas here’s what I ended up with.

The Graduate (Sky)
Thoroughbreds (Cinema)
The Hurricane Heist (Sky)
Death Wish (Cinema)
Ghost in the Shell (Sky)
Charlie Wilson’s War (Sky)
Avengers: Infinity War (Cinema)

I have told myself I am not allowed to start watching anything new until I catch up with my ever growing list of ongoing shows….

New Shows
Ordeal By Innocence

And Then There Were None
Legion (Series 2)

Ongoing Shows
Person of Interest
Grey’s Anatomy
Scandal
How To Get Away With Murder
Black Lightning
Scrubs
The Flash
Master of None
Castle
(which I found airing live twice a day),

My favourite of the month was….. Ordeal by Innocence. The three part Agatha Christie television adaptation aired on the BBC and I binged it all in a day once they were all released. Yes the story itself was captivating but my goodness there’s something to be said for the alluringness of big budget television with crazy stylistic cinematography in overall elevating a series from a seven to a ten.

Over on Letterboxd I write a few lines in review for every movie, not just the ones I see in cinema if you want to check those out.

Least you forget I happen to also be an avid reader, and this month my theme was simple; Catch-Up. So here are the books that I kept pushing back but finally got through.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K Rowling
The Night Masquerade by Nnedi Okorafor
Vicious by V.E Schwab
Soulless by Gail Carriger
Hunted by Meagan Spooner
Valiant by Lesley Livingston
The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle

My favourite for the month has got to be probably Soulless and in all honesty at first I wasn’t digging it. However as I went on I found the mix of normal with the Supernatural really interesting in its casualness, and the humor incredibly… different. It took me by surprise at first I don’t think I laughed at all until suddenly I couldn’t stop.
